Position Summary
The Technology Specialist will lead the coordination of planning, implementation, enhancement and maintenance of the technologies being deployed by NEORide and its member agencies. The Technology Specialist will work under the general supervision of NEORide Executive Director and coordinate with other NEORide personnel and representatives of NEORide member agencies. The technologies will involve some or all of the technologies managed by NEORide such as customer relationship management (CRM) platform, EZfare payment system, EZConnect mobility platform and EZConnect communications platform. The Technology Specialist may be required to supervise Technology Analysts.
Position Requirements
The Technology Specialist shall, at a minimum, have an associate’s degree, but a bachelor’s degree or specialized technical training program is preferred.
Qualifications:

Strong interest in public transit and new mobility services; some experience with transit agencies is preferred.

Knowledge of, or interest in transit vehicle technologies, transit operations management software, transit customer-focused technologies, electronic payment systems.

Experience with project management, technology analysis, contract/vendor management,

Some experience with data analytics is preferred.

Communicate verbally and in writing.

Physically navigate member sites.

Occasionally lift up to 40 pounds (paper, office supplies, etc.)

Utilize PC’s and software applications including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, information systems, desktop publishing, Microsoft teams and e-mail, etc.

Understand office terminology, practices, procedures and equipment. Coordinate and develop presentations and conduct information gathering and networking sessions on job specific topics.

Is able to travel within the State of Ohio and to other Public Transit Locations or conferences in the U.S.
The Technology Specialist is expected to work weekdays between 8 AM and 5 PM. The Technology Specialist will spend approximately 75% of their time in an office environment with the additional 25% divided between walking/navigating, standing, operating a motor vehicle, attending meetings, or doing collaborative meetings and work off-site. The Technology Specialist must be able to remain stationary for long periods of time; occasionally move about the inside of an office to access filing cabinets, office machinery, and other tasks; constantly operate a computer and other office machinery; share accurate information with clients, and co-workers both in person and electronically; and occasionally work in outdoor weather conditions. A flexible work schedule may be permitted, subject to the approval of the NEORide Executive Director, provided it can be consistently maintained and meets the needs of NEORide and OTRP. Requirements to work more than a 40-hour workweek will be rare but may include extra hours on weekdays or weekends as circumstances require. This is a salaried position.
General Duties and Responsibilities

Makes decisions and operates in accordance with established NEORide and OTRP policies and procedures.

Proofreads and independently composes correspondence.

Prepares reports, presentations, summaries as needed or required.

Assists the Executive Director in the development of quarterly Board/Committee packets and attends NEORide Board meetings.

Performs other duties as assigned by the OTRP CEO and NEORide Executive Director.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities

Manage technology projects that involve planning, procurement, and implementation of technology, jointly pursued by NEORide member agencies. This will include the technologies in NEORide portfolio and are used by NEORide member agencies– EZfare and EZConnect. These technologies help transit agencies with transit operations management, customer service, fare collection, business intelligence and other business needs.

Manage vendor communications regarding already deployed technologies to resolve any issues based on agency requests.

Lead the coordination on development and execution of long-term roadmap of joint technology projects for NEORide and member agencies.

Prepare technical memos, reports and proposals.

Represent NEORide at technical conferences.

Address data analytics requests from agencies.

Manage Technology Analysts.

Willing to travel for meetings with NEORide member agencies.
