A new bus route, 18 Express, between the City of Medina and Montrose began on January 4th thanks to a partnership with Medina County Public Transit and METRO RTA. The 18 Express is the first route connecting the two counties and offers access to employment opportunities, medical centers, and shopping.
There are multiple stops along the way including:
· Metro RTA stop at Rothrock Road (offering access to Summit Mall and Robert K. Pfaff Transfer Center in Downtown Akron)
The route operates Monday-Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. One Ride fare for MCPT is $1.50 and $1.25 on METRO RTA. Transfers between the two agencies are free. Riders are encouraged to utilize the EZfare App to purchase tickets.
When asked about the new route, Shannon Rine, Executive Director of Medina County Transit stated, “We are excited about this new route that will help expand access to Summit County and attract visitors to Medina County. This route will provide access to multiple medical facilities, shopping and provide new access for employment that did not previously exist. We are excited about this partnership with METRO RTA and hope to continue to expand access to and from Summit County in the future."
